In the realm of alternative living, where creativity and sustainability converge, the trend of embracing small-scale dwellings has surged in popularity. From Skoolie to RVs, treehouses to ice shanties, boats to tiny homes, and many other small spaces, people are seeking ways to downsize their living spaces without compromising on comfort or functionality.

A pioneering force in this movement is Flame Innovation, a company dedicated to crafting ingenious heating solutions for these unique living spaces. Their offerings, including the Caboose Tiny Wood Stove and the Gravity Fed Mini Me Pellet Stove, have captured the hearts of minimalists and off-grid enthusiasts alike. Flame Innovation is constantly developing and producing new products for everyday living.

The Caboose Tiny Wood Stove: A Space-Saving Marvel

One of Flame Innovation's most standout products is the Caboose Tiny Wood Stove. It's not just a heating appliance; it's a testament to efficient design and thoughtful engineering with burn times in the 6-hour range. In the context of small living spaces, maximizing every inch of available room is crucial. The Caboose stove excels in this area by offering the option of wall mounting, a feature that saves precious floor space and enhances the overall aesthetics of the living area.

Beyond its space-saving attributes, the Caboose Tiny Wood Stove boasts exceptional performance, heating 200 to 800 Sq. Ft. w/ full damper control and an air wash system to keep the glass clean while burning. It is specifically designed to burn cordwood, making it an eco-friendly choice for those who appreciate the allure of a traditional wood-burning stove.

The stove's compact size doesn't compromise its heating capabilities, as it efficiently radiates warmth throughout the space. With the Caboose stove, tiny house dwellers can enjoy the crackling ambiance of a wood fire while staying cozy during colder months. Both the Caboose and Optional Wall Mount Kit are fully UL-tested in the U.S. and Canada.

Gravity Fed Mini Me Pellet Stove: A Marvel of Efficiency

For those who prefer the convenience of pellet stoves, Flame Innovation offers the Non-Electric, Gravity Fed Mini Me Pellet Stove. This stove embodies the principle of efficiency, utilizing gravity to automatically feed pellets into the combustion chamber. This not only reduces the need for electricity but also simplifies operation, a crucial factor for those embracing off-grid lifestyles.

What truly sets the Gravity Fed Mini Me Pellet Stove apart is its impressive burn time. Capable of burning for up to 16-18 hours on approximately 25 pounds of pellets, this stove ensures extended periods of warmth without the constant need for refueling. This feature is particularly advantageous for remote locations or situations where sourcing fuel might be challenging. A Bi-Product of manufacturing, pellets burn clean and efficiently, utilizing a fuel source which would otherwise rot away in landfills. (Optional Stainless Steel water tank available.)

Tiny Living and Off-Grid Living: Harnessing Biomass and Cordwood Fuel

Flame Innovation's dedication to sustainability is evident in their stoves' versatility in fuel options. Both the Caboose Tiny Wood Stove and the Gravity Fed Mini Me Pellet Stove are designed to burn cordwood and biomass fuels efficiently and cleanly. This aligns perfectly with the ethos of tiny living and off-grid living, where resourcefulness and minimizing one's carbon footprint are paramount.

Biomass fuels, such as wood and pellets, offer a renewable and readily available energy source for heating. They contribute to a smaller ecological footprint while allowing individuals to disconnect from conventional energy grids. This self-reliance aligns with the desires of those who have chosen to embrace alternative living arrangements.

Dusty was born and raised in the Inland Northwest and has been an entrepreneur since 1991, starting and selling several successful businesses over the years. Starting 509 Fabrications, Inc. in 2015 by developing the World’s First Gravity-fed Energy Log Stove, filing patents, building prototypes, and introducing the stove as a fully certified EPA Home stove.

Since its inception, he has hired an experienced team of craftsmen and has been developing new products, most recently in the tiny stove world.  Seeing a need for a small stove that is easier to load, with less wood processing time, a large enough cook surface, and an available option to hang the stove on the wall to save space, we went to work.

He has developed a tiny wood stove called the Caboose that can be wall mounted, tested for UL safety, and can handle 15” long wood. He developed a small, non-electric, gravity-fed pellet stove for clients who do not want to burn wood. They recently filed patents and developed a smokeless firepit that emits heat off the sides instead of just out the top. It is the first firepit with damper doors to control the burn and a bonus of spinning the flames of the fire for enjoyment when you stop to camp.

He re-branded to Flame Innovation in 2022 because they have so many new products and care about building products in the USA that are clean and efficient and use bio-mass and renewable resources as fuel.
