Title: Chineese Xantrex Inverters
Post by: Joe Camper on December 03, 2011, 05:50:53 AM
I found a fellow north of Nashville that repairs them. We had a 3012 that had the charger kicking out when a/c power was present and that should never happen.

Shipped it from Chi for 35 bucks ups and he fixed it for 159 said some contacts had welded themselves.

Up till now I was told these were throw away. Ill dig the contact info up if anyone wants it.

I have always bought my inverters from  donrowe.com   always seem to be the best buy, and if it craps, cheap enough sometimes to throw away and buy bigger, Right now we have a 16,ooo with I think a 10,000 continuious,  No charger built in though,  Just my way.................

The 3012 I had them repair is a 1500 dollar inverter, remote is another 250, at least those were the best prices I found on them new, so for under 200 with shipping thats worth fixing.

The bus can become a 2 inverter coach somewhere down the road or it will make a great back-up

They were very quick less than 1 week turnaround

I go to Gusdorf Electronics in Santa Fe NM for the Heart stuff. He is very slow but VERY GOOD and worth the wait if you need him.

Nice to see some folks are fixing control boards etc.....having home appliance issues these days and I am super unimpressed that all the stuff has motherboards that when they have a problem need to be changed out....$225 for the speed board on a front loader washing machine is not too impressive,  round here I could buy a whole  used machine of the same brand for that.  So what to do, the devil you know, the devil you don't know, or an even newer more "sophisticated" machine  that when it breaks will be even more expensive to fix/throw away and replace.....I believe this is called progress by some.
