Bus Rally in SC!!!

Heck, we are mostly paying $3.59 to $3.69 for gasoline locally. Diesel is at $3.99 or more still. On the other side of the metro gasoline is going for $3.39 or less, but I wouldn't save any money making a 40 mile round trip. For some reason both diesel and gas tend to be higher in my part of town and the area is not that affluent. The area that has gas for $3.39 is more affluent than where I live.

Brian
Maybe they buy more than on your side of town so transportation costs are less and competition is greater.

I do notice the highest gas prices are in the inner city areas. I suppose they figure most of the drivers don't travel all that much and don't have an opportunity to buy gas at a cheaper station. I really have no idea why gas prices are generally 10 to 20 cents higher in my area. Even Sam's Club and Costco are higher than the ones on the other side of the metro.
-
4.56 here. WMO!!!
-
We are still fortunate in the US.I am travelling in Germany, diesel is around $5.50 to 6.00 a gallon.

The cost of gasoline in Germany is actually cheaper than in the USA before the taxes are added on.

A friend who owned a gas station in the 'less desireable part of town' told me that his costs were higher there than in the 'better part of town'. Lots of things added up - drive offs, vandalism, theft, bogus complaints, etc.
Doesn't take long for the actions of a few to ruin it for everyone else.

Diesel is cheaper now then gasoline (may have to do with the holiday weekend) here in L.A. $4.05 Diesel, $4.27 regular, $4.47 premium. Good Luck, TomC

More times than not I have been one of those buy high sell low guys. Well it happen again. When we were coming home from Nashville a few weeks ago I decided to stop in Kansas to top off the tanks. I now have a 3/4 full tank of a little under 4.00 fuel. I guess I will have to go somewhere to burn up that high dollar fuel so I can fill up with some cheaper fuel. Makes sense to me.

Well after all Wayne,......you did buy an Eagle! ;D
-
Often the reason gas is more expensive in the inner city is additional city taxes on gas, to fund city transit for example.

A few years back i would try to get from Az. to Wa. without having to buy much fuel in the states inbetween because fuel was always cheaper in Wa. The last couple of years it has flipped around to where i try not to buy fuel in Wa. if i can. ???
-
4.01 down at the Dam (chevron) 4.19 here in town (rebel, sinclair) thats odd, the high price is usually the other way around ???
-
The city proper has a .5% city tax, but that would only add about 2 cents to a gallon of gas. Taxes alone don't explain why gas is 20 to 30 cents higher in the inner city areas. Transit tax is collected across the entire metro area. There is one station in the city that consistently charges 20 cents a gallon more, but they are the only gas station workers heading out of downtown back to the suburbs pass by before getting on the freeway.
It is interesting that the cost of diesel in LA is about the same as diesel here, but our gas prices are way lower.
-
Well I still have a half tank of fuel from Mexico (approx 3 dollars a gallon paid in pesos) but I thought I would fill it up this weekend while we are out for a drive and it looks to be about 3.65 give or take a penny or two.

3.37 today in Taylors. Reg. Is 2.99
-
We are now paying 10.2 pesos per liter here. (3.78 liters per U. S. gallon) Since the Mexican peso devalued to 14.43 per dollar this week, that means we are now paying the equivalent of $2.65 U. S. per U. S. gallon.

It shows how badly the US is in trouble when a Government monopoly screws the citizens of its country less than a corporate monopoly does in the country next door.

@ 3.49 a gal that will 20% bio diesel you can buy it here in Phoenix for around 3.50 for certain applications a gal,the straight ULSD cost around $3.85 a gal the 5% bio here is $3.75 and some stations have 2 pumps 1 will be for LSD for older vehicles and it is a little cheaper than ULSD fuel my understanding that is going a way only the bio mix fuel and ULSD will be sold and the pumps will be green for bio mix fuel
SC allows stations to sell the 20% bio diesel AZ doesn't yet only the 5% at retail stations the only place I have found 20% bio fuel here in Phoenix is at CardLock it was tempting to fill the MH up but I paid $3.85
Matt, Mexico imports all their ULSD from the USA figure that one out lol not many of the government owned stations sell the ULSD fuel in Mexico we do have a choice here to buy from any station they don't it is bought from Mexican Government

Dont any of you come my way! Not that you would want to anyway with temperatures being well above 100 degrees now. But in order to escape this HOT, diesel around here is more then gasoline and is about $4.19 for the cheep stations..... So. California Mojave Desert
-
It's starting to look a little better here in Homer Alaska too. It's been over 5.00 per gal for a year now, It is now down to 4.60
It still kills me, but that .50 saves me 380.00 on one fill in the bus.

Yeah, but it's a dry heat there. I'm in Charlotte NC today - up to 104, and definitely NOT a dry heat! Fuel $3.35 just across the border in SC.

OK Bruce, you keep saying you're coming down soon. Well, now's the time and bring me a full tank (150 gal) of diesel premium, please!

Gary, my experience has been that Tenn prices are usually a little lower than in VA (both are higher than NC, which never saw a tax that they didn't like). But I'm gonna get out there!

Diesel is back to being less than reg gas for a couple of month now in BC and Alberta. I don't know why, but makes you feel better about driving diesel vehicles.
