mc9 cargo doors
« on: July 22, 2014, 07:01:49 AM »
Has anyone changed the opening mechanism on the cargo doors? So that they open sideways ,,I believe they call it a café style door ,,
I am thinking piano hinges on the front sides so that they swing open to the front,
Eliminating all the hinges and springs that are there now
Building an angle iron frame and riveting the panels on ,,I got the idea from the a/c door that's just a big vent ,,it opens to the side.  Anyone done it?? Any pictures to go by?

Quite a few of the Eagles have them and they are replaced by two doors. Usually  1.5 x 1.5 square tube with piano hinges.
Don't have any pics but if you check out EaglesInternational.net you should find some under projects.
