Just looked at an old Newell and saw that it had something called Air Tabs on it. Not being familiar with them i went online and looked them up. Does anyone here use them or know about them? Do they work as claimed? I am interested in what people have to say about them. I also posted this on the other board.

I have a smart car that can get a little loose in crosswinds so I put some of these across the rear of the roof = no change.
I was talking with an engineer friend at PACCAR one day about them and he said that they tried them on their test track. They are always looking for ways to improve mpg because it sells trucks. His comment; "they don't hurt, but they don't help either".
I saw a Pete going down the road the other day with them all down the sides of the spoilers on the edge of the cab, they look cool.

You might want to check out www.rvtv.ca It is a cable TV show about RV'ing, that tested the air tabs and posted a review of their results on TV shows website.

These things work on some airplane wings and tails where the air flow is relatively smooth.
However, considering the square frontal view of a bus or truck I don't see any way they could work.
I'm open to an independent evaluation.
I didn't have a clue about how to find it on www.rvtv.ca? That is one of the busiest web pages I have ever seen. I figured it would have taken me an hour to figure out where it is.
