hi after reading numerous posts, i have seen that mci has the most heating issues, if thats so, could you not install a side mount rad, and a fan drive like in a a prevost? any ideas?????

I can tell you that I completely rebuilt the shrouds around the radiators on my MCI9. I made sure that I made the shourd with heavy rubber that always stays in place. I saw a 10-15 degree drop in temperature after the rebuild. It also made sure the squirrel cage system was and is maintained.
I have no cooling issues here in California.

Anything's possible if you throw enough $$$$ at it.

We don't have cooling issues, with our Dl3. We do have radiators that are in great condition, if that makes any difference. Earlier this year we drove up the Fraser river canyon, in Canada, and the bus did great (not to mention that we have done most of the steep grades out West in the mountains). It does slow down, but it doesn't over heat...Yet. ;)
Watch, I will say this, and next trip in the summer we will overheat... ::) ;D

John316;FWIW you have a s S60 the turbo takes the heat out and the 2 strokes depend on water to take the heat out
have a great evening

mma2s, Thanks for the correction. I know that our S60 is a lot different from the two strokes. I just didn't know how different. ;) Thanks. (now you know why I post here, I need a lot of help ;D)
In that case, you all with two strokes should change to a S60... JK of course. ;D ;D ;D
God bless,
John

I have an MCI and an L10 because I tired of the heat issues and needed to rebuild or replace so there are options

I have a 79 MCI 6V71 non turbo. I changed the thermostats to get it to run warmer!! I know my bus has the larger MCI9 radiators in it with no shutters. My cooling system filler cap had lost its seal and the system was unpressurized, which I fixed. It is possible for them to run without heat issues. Jim
