Try calling MCI tech support. They usually can help.

Oh, and if it is really pricey, don't be surprised. I assume the seals is the rubber that the windshield actually sits in. If so, we paid $500 for ours.
God bless,
John

No way are they $500 from MCI!! Last I checked they were about $60 each!!!!
-
jjrbus,
Okay, I wondered. I said that our rubber that the windshield sits in was 500, not the rubber strips that go inside to seal it. I didn't know exactly what the seals were, that he was referring to. I guess he was referring to the rubber that goes inside of the window rubber. That stuff was about sixty to seventy, if I remember correctly.
Sorry for the confusion,
God bless,
John

Wow, guys that's a bit much for windshield gaskets and locks mine were less than 200.00 bucks for the Eagle both sides maybe they will work on a MCI any body know if it will or not good luck
-
The last time I priced these (probobly 2006) the gasket and spline from MCI was about $100. The gaskets were about $40 each and the spline which had to be bought by the roll was about $20. The windshields were $125 each with free crateing and shipping. I'm sure they went up since then.
John are you talking about the fiberglass frame for the windshields??
-
Nope, not the fiberglass. It is the actual rubber that the windshield sits in. The spline (I think that is the round tube that goes into the window rubber) was cheap. The actual window rubber was that expensive. (Now that you have me second guessing myself it could have been 250, but I really think that it was 500 ;D ;D ;D.) I think that the difference could be in the buses. We have a DL3, so they could have changed something between our models...
Anyways Bushawg, and Dennis, I am glad to hear that your stuff isn't as expensive. That is good news.
God bless,
John

There I go again, compareing apples to oranges ;D Mine was for an 79 MCI5C

John,
I do the exact same thing...But then again I should have mentioned it sooner...Sorry.

Is this an item Luke would carry ?

You are, I hope, being "tongue-in-cheek" with your comment about Luke being in the NE.
That is, if you consider NJ part of the NE, anyway.
But there's also a very, very good chance that Luke & his crew at US Coach will have the complete windshield rubber assemblies for just about any model MCI in stock, and will ship same day UPS, if buyer uses plastic money. Prices are fair, and, since he's a strong supporter of the busnut community, we should also support him. 1-888-262-2434 is his toll-free number, M-F 9-5 Eastern.
FWIW & HTH. . .

I paid around 100 bucks for new front seals with locks, also the seal for the driver window, from Jefferson Bus.
Of course I have an Eagle, the rust was free! ;)

RJ,
Yup, you are right ;D :D ;D. Thanks for the info. I will save his number.

Most reputable truck glass shops carry many types of windshield rubber. This is used in many applications busses, locomotives, ships, and some RV's.

If anyone else is interested I did get part #'s for my MC-9
before serial # 38799 the part # is 3G-27-2
after # 38799 the aprt # is 3G-27-205
Don't ask me which one 38799 is.
They both sell for about 90 bucks Canadian and are hard to find. Although Greyhound in Edmonton had one set of 3G-27-205 which of course is not the ones I'm looking for.
have fun -34 C here tonight

Thanks, Grant and others.
