For those that follow such things:

Coach crash in Cornwall leaves two dead and 47 injured

Can't tell what type of bus it is from the BBC videos, but I've looked at the operator's website and it will be either a Volvo or a Bova Futura. As it happens I very nearly bought a Bova Futura instead of my Plaxton.

May I also send along my sincerest condolances to the families and friends of those whose lives have changed as the result of this accident.

Having spent many years of my life in the UK, I know the area, and understand that there was little that could have done. I just pray that the driver is alright and those who survived will be able to move on.

I loved the lady who, in the middle of it all, was able to joke that she had been shaken, but no stirred.

Did anyone see the report of the rap band bus that got hung up on the RR tracks in Colorado Springs about two weeks ago? The train came along and cut in two.It sounded like the bus high centered trying to cross the tracks.

Colorado Springs officials might want to rethink the way they are responding to this dangerous situation.  I surely would not want to be the one stuck on the tracks in the middle of the night...

OK, folk, here's where a professional driver did exactly what he was trained to do - GET EVERYONE OFF THE BUS!  (At least, that's the way I used to to train them!)

Because he did, nobody was injured or killed.

Granted, the band lost their bus, but that's a whole lot better than losing the band (even if it is a rap outfit).

See the new thread I'm starting about Operation Lifesaver. . .

FWIW & HTH. . .

 ;)
