Folks,
As many here already know, we are finally selling our bus after three years of storing it "just in case." (For those who don't, we lived in this bus, a two-time BCM centerfold, full-time for nine years.)
When I listed the bus on eBay, I honestly figured it would remain there for weeks if not months before we got a nibble. As it turns out, we already have bids (and a rather shocking 12,000 page views), which means come hell or high water the bus will be sold when the auction ends on Friday. And then here I'll be, in St. Petersburg, Florida, while the bus remains in covered storage in a very remote corner of coastal Virginia.
I find myself now scrambling to make plans to get myself to Virginia to start it up, extract it from the storage yard (where it has sunk as much as 5" into the dirt over three years of rains), get our remaining personal goods off, and turn it over to some lucky soul who will take over my half million dollar project for pennies on the dollar.
I can probably do 99% of what needs done single-handed. But buses being buses, I want to have my ducks lined up ahead of time in the event I need help. In particular, I will be handicapped by a lack of tools; we moved all of the good tools with us onto the boat when we moved to it from the bus three years ago. I put together a minimal number of bare-necessity tools to stay with the bus, but if I need anything exotic while I'm there, I'm going to have to hunt for it someplace. (The weird bus-only tools like the Detroit/Allison code reader/programmer are, of course, still on the bus and will go to the buyer.)
If anyone here is in that neck of the woods and is available to come help me when I get there, please let me know either here in the thread or by direct email. I'm willing to pay a fair price for your time and your travel expenses. The bus is in Lottsburg, VA which is about an hour and a half from Richmond or two-plus hours from DC. Again, I'm hoping I won't need it, but waiting until I get there to start lining up resources is asking for trouble.

I'm working the next couple of weeks (likely 6-day weeks) in Kinston NC. I won't be able to get up to coastal VA to help but if I can do anything to assist while you're on your way/etc. let me know.

You have one of the coolest buses out there. I was showing my wife and three children your ebay bus listing and video's Friday night after dinner and we were all trying to figure out where the three kids could sleep and my wife and I were pretty close to just putting them on pallets on the floor!
You did a wonderful job on your video's and your bus is spectacular.

Easy... just turn the motorcycle bay into a kids' bunkhouse/fort/play area. They can either access it through the existing "tunnel" from the driver area, or for extra cool factor, add a hatch into the living room :-)

Can you post a link to the auction? I did try the obvious search terms on Ebay but couldn't find it. I'm not a potential buyer you understand, but I would be interested in reading the listing
