Title: RV sewer fittings
Post by: Gary LaBombard on May 11, 2016, 07:21:56 AM
Hey guys,
I have made my gray / black water storage tank and put it in my eagle.  Now I am planning on the piping stage of it and am not sure if it is really necessary to use the black ABS fittings from the tank to the dump vlv connection for the hose?  Is this really necessary to use the ABS pipe only for RV plumbing?  Is the ABS stronger or what is the reason for this if needed?

ABS is stronger, and all sewer fittings for RV are made of ABS. It is as easy to assemble as PVC-just use the correct glue. Good Luck, TomC

Abs parts are universally available at any big box or small town mom and pop. Easy to work with, handles hot and cold very well, cheap to purchase.

ABS sweeps  ( 90 degree angles, etc) are longer than PVC allowing smooth flow of solids.  Also called sanitary sweeps.

PVC DW will work fine all fitting are the same it is just a matter of choice but ABS is usually cheaper in cost, neither are not that great with the foam core IMO
