I was reading the SE Bus Chapter rally stuff.  Do most rallies cost around $300?  That's what it looks like for the Hilton Head SC rally?  Am I reading that wrong?

Branderson, $300 for a 3-5 day rally is pretty typical.  Unless you go to a Prevost rally then they can cost more than double.  Fortunately the SoCal rally is free as everyone brings something to donate to help out.  Rallies with scheduled events and meal plans obviously cost more to put on. Nobody makes a profit on these rallies in fact most rally organizers do a lot of work and even pay some out of their own pocket just so everyone can get together to have a good time.

Thanks Gary.  I live in AL so the SE bus club definitely interests me.  I want to cut my teeth at one of these rallies and be a sponge soaking up everyone's experience.  (hopefully retain it after the beer flows)

Branderson, ditto what Gary said about rally fees... rally fees often include two or three nights camping, sometimes catered meals, sometimes paid entertainment. It all depends on where the rally host chooses, and what is planned. The Southeast Bus Nuts rally this last November had a fee of $195 and their rally in January was $225, just to give you an idea as to how rally fees can move up or down. They'll be glad to see you whenever you can get to a rally.   Linda

FMCA conventions run 3 to 4 hundred for nothing but people selling something. The Prevost rallies are nice but expensive to the average RVer most most cost 1200 to 1500 bucks plus the golf cart  ;D .
There are a lot of local get togethers that don't cost much like Bucks min rally,Kyles and Van and Tom's you pay for camping only.
We don't go to main stream rallies anymore they became to structured for us, we like the laid back type with people just enjoying each other meeting old friends and making new friends
