The 12v vs. 24v problem can be solved with a simple converter if the correct voltage motor can't be found.

I don't have a good visual of how the motor mounts, so it's really hard to know which of the many motors out there might work.

Pictures?

I found some that may or may not work on Ebay but for 20 bucks I am going order 1

Are these sun visor shades? Carefree of Colorado makes them also if you consider replacing the whole unit.

Did you rip the wire at the soldier joint? It can be repaired.

I thought we decided we should stay away from anything with wires attached way back, LOL

I've got the roller with me now, I'll take it home and get new wires soldiered up with a plug he can reach :D. the original plug CC chose to bury above a mountain of trim, go figure. Clifford needed a new bracket for this shade anywho to make it all right.

Yeah Van awesome. We have those same blinds and with the solar blinds also. But we don't have the motors. I always thought I would get them but never did, LOL I am sure it is on a list somewhere. I have two long ones that do not want to adjust and just roll them up by hand. :^

FYI Here's a battery powered one (rechargeable) with remote that I am using:

Video of it in operation:

This was an inch and half unit but they have smaller unit's at the link above.

We put some rechargeable remote control blinds in the house, I must say they are very nice. Have to be plugged in infrequently to recharge. The battery pack is mounted up along the header. Not exactly cheap though.

Good news! Sonja won't have to pull cords to open or close this blind lol.
I was able to disassemble the power unit and solder up a new lead with enough wire to make reassembly simple. Unlike the cheaper units, with some finesse these can be re built using simple motors purchased thru Amazon if necessary.

  Good stuff :)
