BATTERY QUESTION...
Our pair of 8D battery hybrid start batteries are acting awfully funny...@ 6-1/2 years in service.
A week ago I noticed the cooling fan running on their 4 stage charger. No load or drain on them - when I checked the batteries they were warm and tops were wet with electrolyte. Their level was covering the plates fine and far from full. I checked all cell hydrometer readings and were top of the green showing full charge. They spin the starter just fine. I disconnected the charger and they've been sitting static for a week now. They were maintaining 12.7V for a few days & are now at 12.5V. No charging for a week. Spins the starter w/o hesitation. Will activate charger when voltage goes lower - NAPA is running a 10% MD sale on them but didn't want to replace them if not needed. Comments appreciated...

When batteries start to show signs of wettnes on top they are ageing. Out 6 years Dan on 8-D you got your money worth load test you cannot tell if batteries are good with a volt meter

Just purchased two new NAPA BAT 8276 8D Hybrid start batteries. Got 10% off but have to run to a NAPA an hour away due to my local store only having 1 at their Jacksonville warehouse. The farther store had 11 at their Miami warehouse hence condition of sale is to have the same mfging date code on both... Thanks for the push guys. Now all our house & start batteries are new and ready for the great white north & beyond.
