I want to see all those things we built into our buses that make us stand out from the rest.
So, show us two things that are unique about your Skoolie build.
I'll go first.
We have our countertop that is epoxied with family pictures. It has lasted so far two years! We stare at it often. It is my favorite thing about our bus.
Last we have our bunks for our kids at the front of the bus, unlike most who have the whole bunkhouse/beds at the back of the bus where the adult's bed is.
I have been to a few bus rallies and these are the two things we get the most comments about and people notice the most.
Can't wait to see all the unique features!!

Speaker grill and mirror cabinet are walnut harvested from a back field and milled into lumber by me.

I installed a wet darkroom since I am so old fashioned. It is part of the bathroom. The shower is used as a place to dry prints and film and the sink is used as a large bathroom sink and can be used to wash clothes in too.

Very cool! Love the faucet and love the idea of a darkroom. I have not dabbled in that in years. Fun stuff!

somewhere, Your faucet is wild. Probably far better quality than anything you can buy now. Does it swivel too? Your whole bus is a large labor of love.

Thanks, yes it does swivel. I have a dislike for almost all modern faucets with their cartridges, I like the screw down on a rubber washer concept. Those faucets are ungodly expensive and there are 9 million different cartridges. I have a package of rubber washers that I probably bought 20 years ago for less than a dollar. It will fix 99% of the old style shut offs.

Just the usual stuff I guess. Well, I do have a snap in goose down comforter that matches the contours of my pop up roof. Since we don't heat at night it gets pretty cold in the winter and the comforter makes a ten degree difference. When not in use the comforter stuffs into half a pillow case for storage. Jack

Well now you have me thinking about goose down window coverings. Hmmm. That front windshield is a real heat loss event.

We use a light blocking (white) traditional roll down shade to provide captured air between the windshield and the open interior. This helps keep the heat in in the winter and the hot out in the summer. All the rest of the bus windows are dual glazed and have the same roll down shade treatment. As an aside, the roll down shade on the windshield meets the visor requirement here in Kalifornia.
I sewed up a snap in partition to separate the driving compartment from the living quarters. This is used mainly while driving in the summer so the dash air doesn't have to try to cool the entire bus while traveling. When it is very cold the partition can be used to block off the driving area and its heat loss--though there is a loss of interior living space if I do that. Jack
