Title: MCI 102D3 Lavatory air door line cap
Post by: Bustle on September 12, 2021, 04:15:58 PM
Hello all, I am in process of removing the lav out of 1995 MCI102D3. I thought the lav was going to be a crap job, but it turned out to be bunch of busy work trying to not strip any of the tank bolts. It took about 3 hours to get the tank out by myself, and very limited tools - a ball pin hammer, a deep socket and bunch of extensions, and I got it out. Now I need to cap the air line to the bathroom door closer.

Does anyone know what size cap I need to get for the lav air door line? I am capping it at the main supply line. However, with that said, there is also a T line to a solenoid at the engine bay door, and manual release valve.. should i just disconnect the line and connect them together to the solenoid instead of capping at the source? Is there a reason to keep that solenoid?

Thanks.

I had that whole stack of fittings out when I added a small auxiliary 110vac air compressor in that compartment. Re-plumbed the stack in a way that made more sense. Sometimes I think people just throw together whatever fittings are at hand in whatever order they happen just to get everything hooked up with no regard whatsoever for appearance. It's not hard to do better.

Thanks both. An auxiliary air compressor sounds like a good idea. Got any pictures or a write up of your setup?

Might be something on my "Red Bus" build thread. I'll be out of town for a couple days but maybe I can get a photo when I get back.
