I am replacing a leaking brake relay valve to my spring brake chambers tomorrow. I am replacing the hoses too because the swivels were frozen and they were cracking after 26 years. I cut the hoses since I was replacing them to make them easier to remove. Total cost at Fleetpride was $116 including some brass adapters to make everything fit together.
Does it make sense to proactively replace the other brake relay valves since they are 26 years old? The other set of hoses to the spring brake chambers should be replaced and the brake relay valve would be easy to replace at the same time.

With brake relays one never knows I have seen 50 year old buses the relays have never been replaced some so old they haven't been manufactured in 40 years,it is a judgement call on your part

We have a 50 yo relay valve that works perfectly and was surprised to be able to find a BW oem nos service kit for it! Who knows may never have to service it but can if I need to. Carry it in our on board spare parts bin. :^
