Headed from Blue Ridge Ga to Polk City Fla in the morning. Checked all the fluids, greased the spindle for the radiator fan, adjusted my mirrors, remembering watch it start, watch it turn, watch it finish, and fuel is $3.99 most of the way there.... for now. So I'm going!
Meeting up with 2 BCM guys and two old FMCA friends of father in law to learn about my 6V92, HT 740, and all the 24 volt stuff I can remember. Rita too busy with real estate to go on this trip and does not care about engine class, so only one set of eyes to watch for idiots through Atlanta coming and going....
So for that part of it, wish me luck!

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! Keep us posted. :^

Wishing you smooth sailing in your land yacht!!!

Good luck. You know, there are parallel routes to bypass Atlanta.

Isn't there a Bus lane through atlanta?

I've tried side routes Chessie but they have too many traffic lights for me. I'm not in a hurry but it seems to take twice as long. I'm trying to get more patient as I age, but I guess I just like to run it down the highway. Atlanta has no bus lane. They have an HOV lane but with Rita off the manifest this trip I will just do it the way that works for us when we have to traverse Atlanta.
Up at four, get heavily caffeinated as the bus warms up, go right through downtown to avoid the trucks that are forced to use the bypass around Atlanta, and I should be out the south end before the ant farm comes to life at six. The rest of the trip is really not too bad. Staying at a friend's place in Ocala for 2 nights to help him plumb the schoolie he is almost finished converting. Polk City on Saturday to go to DD school for three days. Very excited to learn about it from guys that know. I only have 47 questions written down.....

lol, got into hov lane several times leaving LA area. roll great two or three miles then full stop just like other lanes.

Atlanta is as bad or worse than LA CA rush hour. The only way to get through Atlanta is to do it between 2AM to 4AM without too much aggravation...
-
no luck to it! You got this.. You have credit card and on call help if you need it..

nobody told me that and I drove thru Atlanta at noon on a week day it was the worst I had ever seen. LA was tame in comparison. I still have white paint on bumper from a car chnging lanes in front of me.

Enjoy the trip! No luck needed. You make your own ;)

Hopefully not as bad as Denver. We dealt with 50 miles of heavy traffic. Couple of cities right against each other.
-
Friends don't let friends drive through cities in the day time. best of luck!

only way to go south is to go way around Atlanta.
When I go south I do 321 and around Columbia SC than to 301 south to Florida.
Daytona or Arcadia.
Get there a lot easier with no bad nerves.
uncle ned
Of course took me 3 weeks to get Manhattan Kansas
No interstate travel but beautiful back country roads.

Phoenix area is just as bad the rush hour starts at 5 AM and then again at 2 PM ,the speed limits here are crazy high and with people driving 75 miles per hour when they have a accident it is a mess for hours
