80 MCI 5C right beside brake air tank. Is this a filter? Want to seal up this leak. Also my AD-2 dryer leaks after it unloads for 20-30 seconds, time to tear apart and lube up?

Ok, After no replies I opened it up. Yes a filter but does not show up in the parts manual. Has any one seen one like this?

All older mci's use that chassis filter it's a type F suspension filter keeps the junk from entering the air bags lol some have never been changed. I had a mci 5 here that would build air in a hurry but took 30 mintues to fill the bags and the filter was the problem. NAPA can match it or call Luke ,NAPA is close for me with no freight is why I buy there,that filter should show up on your air schematics.

Nope Luke will not have them. Tried him a few years ago and he said they are hard to find. I went to Parker and just go a small filter. Then connected some tubing and brought the mess out into the tool bay so I could drain it when needed. A lot easier and a pushbutten drain on the bottom. Don't remember the number but about 3 inched long with glass bowl on bottom and a drain.

It does show on the schematic just not in the service or parts manual.

It's actually just a string filter, I just gave up trying to find one and went with a newer better filter and made it easier to service. :^

I bought mine from Luke in 2021.
He called it a ball of string for the spaceship looking filter. I think I have the box still. I’ll try and remember to get you the part number tomorrow.
