Title: Hurricane Hillary
Post by: dtcerrato on August 17, 2023, 04:13:10 PM
Cat 4 Hurricane Hillary coming up from the south forecast to slam into Baja Mexico and Southern California. Wonder if they'll scramble the Pacific fleet out of the San Diego harbor ahead of this storm. It's predicted that the SW desert regions could get a years worth of rain in two days from this storm causing mass flash floods. Welcome to global warming coming to a theater near you!  :o

The NWS says this system will have the potential to reach interior as far as Utah & Colorado and will create a heat dome in the central US setting up favorable condition for atmospheric River the enter Southern Cali. The event will be beyond a nuisance. First time a storm of this magnitude has come within 200 miles of San Diego since the early 60s. This is interesting to an east coaster now Florida that has experienced major hurricanes most their life.

Florida would be island if not for the land up top,we got our share on the Texas coast too Dan It will be interesting how CA can handle a storm of this size

Here in central Pa., 1" one day, 2 1/2" next two days. Seems most of our Rainey days are close to an inch. Back in June, no rain for a month, but it's made up for it since. But it damaged a lot of corn. Good height but 1" or 1 1/2" ears. Rest of crops ok. Everything's been more wet than dry since.
