On April 8th there will be a total solar eclipse and I think it is the last one in the US for the next 20 years....

Who's going to try and catch it?

The last one I was under cloud cover and all it did was get dark...

What time does it go over Cincinnati? We might get enough clear sky to see it...

Over on BGM Dick aka somewhereinusa has put together an informal rally for this in rural IN N. of Indianapolis!

Here are some details: (copied and pasted from BGM!)
Plans are moving ahead. I have a location that is near the center of the eclipse path. It will be boondocking only. Trash in trash out, I promised there would be no trash. $25 a night, cash only, I'm planning on April 6-9 , four nights. It has a stocked fishing pond and maybe a couple of porta-potties.
Plans so far are for a pot luck one night, probably Monday the 8th.
Please, if you can, let me know early.
I am also inviting others, hopefully we'll have a big crowd.

Another copied and paste quote from Dick:

Update on Solar Rally. This is what I have so far.

Date; April 5-8 2024 Friday night thru Monday night. Eclipse is Monday afternoon about 3:40 PM. Show up for any or all nights.

Address; 9661 W 100 N, Farmland, IN, United States, Indiana
40.17207942139341, -85.16028353289177

I have most of 20 acres to use we may be a bit spread out as it's not all level. There is a 6 acre stocked, catch and release pond. It's an old gravel pit so ground seems to be pretty solid. On the ground fires are permitted. There are no facilities of any kind, we MIGHT be able to use an electrical outlet for crockpots, etc for the potluck.

Cost is $25 per night cash only. Trash in trash out, I promised there would be no mess.

At this point I have no plans other than a Sunday AM service, a potluck Sunday PM and watching the solar eclipse on Monday. I hope to have a lot of firewood with evening campfires. (I have the firewood, just need to figure the logistics of getting it there)

I'm looking into some pre solar eclipse instructional/craft activities for kids. I could use help with that.

13 miles east of Muncie, IN

I am just passing on this info in case anyone wishes to go and enjoy this event with other GREAT busnuts!
I personally know some of the ones planning on attending and you won't meet a better bunch of nuts!
