Title: 1965 5a Power Steering Connections
Post by: Lin on January 24, 2024, 08:43:12 PM
(http://)

The green pipe runs from the power steering reservoir to the pump.  Since it was leaking at the reservoir, we removed it and found that the threads on the 3/4" compression side of the elbow and the connecting 3/4" compression nut both had mangled threads.  We have been having difficulty finding those parts (we did find the 3/4" compression ring though).  Any ideas on who would have them?  Thanks

Any good hose shop should have the fittings ,even Amazon will probably have it,if you haven't purchased fittings in last few years prices will make you faint, that with the long shoulder nut for reinforcement will be in the $20.00 range

I would have thought it so, but I tried one shop with no luck, and a friend has tried a couple.  I have asked Luke too, and he is looking in to it.  I would have thought that you had one in your pocket!

Yes, the prices are wild.  I also needed to replace a fuel line.  It costed almost $90.

Yea Van! I finally tracked down one and was going to be happy to pay the $30+ they wanted, but $12.79 plus free shipping is amazing.  Maybe I should stock up for the next time.

I wouldn't use the nut on the one posted from Amazon use a long shank nut or the vibration will cause a leak in about a month, Propane dealers usually have the long shank nuts in 3/4
