Going east on I-40 just before Jolley Road, coming from Kingman, before Seligman, i was trapped between an 18 wheeler in front doing 70 mph and also one on the side I hit a pot hole bigger than my tire. My tires are just 1 year old, down to 6lbs in a few seconds. Fortunately I have a real spare. Tire dealer said they will not put the 1 year old tire back on the wheel. Damage was extensive.
Although the I-40 has had alot of kingman to flagstaff road repaving there are still plenty of really bad spots. So be really aware of I-40, especially east bound in AZ...

The Discount Tire manager n Flagstaff, said a lot of east bound I-40 drivers come in with the same type of blow outs...

Wow, that really sucks. I tend to stay in the left lane all the way through in that area. The right lane is/has been a disaster war zone and unacceptable. I get it the weather takes its toll but when we went through the area in October the bus was rocking side to side. Just terrible.

When going east bound on I-40 I'm going to use Route66 from Kingman, around the mountain thru Peach Springs to I-40 at Seligman, Bypassing the bad part of I-40. West bound is much better...

did waze or google maps or any other internet mapping app highlight the pothole?

Huge damaging pot holes in interstate highway surface sounds like a third world country problem! Interstate 10 along parts of the Gulf coast between TX and AL will inflict great damage on the strongest hitches and trailler tongues. Kinda parallel to the USPS.

Federal highways are in terrible shape, the states just oversee the highways and up keep when the feds release the dollars, they are supposed to use the fuel tax for that but is spent on other useless projects, lol so we pass new spending bills

Just traveled from Las Vegas to flagstaff on IS93 then I-40. As I said in the 1st topic, I-40 is pretty awful from Kingman to Seligman and that I was going to use Route 66 out of kingman thru peach springs to I-40. Just got to Flagstaff, Route 66 was much better, I saw two pot hole on 66 that were off to the right edge and 1 pot hole filled with cement that must have contracted a bit in the middle of the lane. Route 66 was much better...
