Title: Yikes! MC9 under the floor plate for the push button turn signals
Post by: plyonsMC9 on February 26, 2024, 10:54:19 PM
OK, pretty gross,
After years of fighting with the push button floor switches for the turn signals (they lost their spring and I had to continually fight to get them to pop back up), I decided to see whether they could easily be replaced.

Thank you Luke @ US Coach! They could.

But in lifting the floor pedestal which supports them - pretty gross.  1 inch of dirt piled up, dampness, paper clips from 40 yrs ago, and just a lot of gross junk.  Some of the remainder here.

However, glad I finally bit the bullet.  Especially to find the parts weren't that expensive - and actually look easy to replace.  Worst part is going to be disinfecting and cleaning the area up.   :P

Take care bus folks!
Phil

My first car was a 1972 AMC MATADOR (hand me down from Grandparents in 1984). It had the high beam switch on the floor. Honestly, I can't believe someone thought that was a good idea. Dirt and road salt causing it to become useless.
