Even though I would never have a wood stove in my moving bus as they take up valuable space for the stove and the wood storage, if I ever park for good, I may consider installing one. I love the heat and smell of a wood-burning stove. We heated our 14-room farmhouse in NH with wood when I was growing up, so much so, that I always thought my name was "Get Wood". ;D
That being said, several Bus Nuts have wood stoves in their buses and travel the country and save money by heating their interior space and water with a wood stove.
I have also been to several Bus Rallies where people brought firewood for the campfire and may have unknowingly broken the law on the way to the rally.
My question is, what is the story about some states not allowing wood to be carried across state lines? What are the rules on this and what states prohibit this and does it pertain to all types of firewood?
And what about crossing in and our of Canada and Mexico with firewood? Has anyone had any experience doing this?

Laws vary between the states even though we're united. Canadian/USA border crossing is a no no for firewood no less than cannabis. Standard practice is not to transport firewood across state lines with concern of spreading pesky wood destroying insects.
