Who uses Diesel Fuel Additives in your bus?
What brand do you use and have you noticed an improvement in either mileage or performance?
-
Howe's Diesel treat for piece of mind. Used to use ATF - 1 quart to 100 gal of diesel.

Diesel fuel additive is important for EGR engines it raises the Cenate number for cleaner burning, I used the Power Service since it was the only one Cummins endorsed it has the Cummins logo on the bottle. If what ever brand has Cenate booster it should help for non EGR engines I would think, diesel today with the 5 to 30% BIO is real crappy fuel ,It doesn't come even close to meeting the fuel specs for a older diesel engine .Some stations offer 100% diesel fuel but it has a premium price

You mean Cetane booster? :)

I just want to know how you got the camera in the gas tank fill pipe! :o
Take care!

What do all of these numbers mean for a non-Diesel Mechanic?

Does anyone use Marvel Mystery Oil anymore? My dad used that in almost everything on the farm. ???
-
Marvel Mystery Oil is way down near the bottom of the additive list that Bill posted. Just saying,

I have been using Howes Diesel Treatment Lubricity additive since the mid 80s. Several million miles in that time with the big rigs. Still use it today even in my Duramax (06 LBZ ) never let me down ever. Check out their promise if you buy a case of it! Today low sulphur fuel if I had a two stroke it would be in every tank and your injectors will last a long time.

I started using Howes a year after I got my bus. It stopped my two little oil leaks.
