When you get a bus, it typically has many windows on each side. So, when you start planning your conversion layout, you must consider how much natural light you want versus how many windows you want to remove and insulate. Also, don't forget to make or buy shades to cover the windows you keep.
After that, you must decide on heating and cooling options. You should think about the most energy-efficient way to circulate air in your tiny home. For example, should you install MaxxAir Fans or Fantastic Fans? How many fans do you need? Which areas require fans the most? Would it be beneficial to install skylights?

We're trying out a darker window tint to help cut down on heat in the front of the bus. Just not in the front windshield. This was suggested by Leisure Coach and we're giving it a shot in our DL3. Our MC9 had a heavier tint (darker?) and I believe it is effective. And I also like a bit extra privacy; That way I can be unobserved as I watch neighbors pull in and offer my free commentary. :D ;D

My Eagle has tint added to all but the cockpit windows while at a rally in Pahrump, NV, which supposedly reflects most of the heat. I wanted limo tint, but Ms. Tint Lady talked me out of it. But it turned out great, and I assume it is keeping out some heat, but I'm not sure how much. If I were you, I would put a different tint on each window, then after a year, decide which one you like the best and then write an article for BCM regarding the results. Just sayin'. ;D

Sounds great Gary- this is why I'm a regular reader of BCM publications. You just can't get this quality advice anywhere else. In fact, I am so thankful that when you bring the bus by the Lyons ranch, I'll spray paint your windows with some high quality multi color tint I have here. It says Rustoleum, but it should do fine and for sure your windows also will never rust after this treatment. :D
