JC had a 1957 MCI Courier with a 4-71 power it was before Greyhound bought MCI  in 1958 and before the MCI 5 A it was a nice looking old bus they were all Courier back then built in Canada till 1963 then came the Challenger built in ND I guess the 5a with both names were made from parts from both countries

That is right. It was a 1957 MCI Courier 96, built in Winnipeg. Sometimes I regret selling it... Weren't the 5A's and B's Challengers? I don't remember the 5C that went to Ed had a Challenger name to it. I regret selling that one too...

Our 5C doesn't have challenger on the front only MCI but the inside name plate has it on it. 1979 MCI MC5C Challenger built in Pembina ,ND
shipped to London then Saudi Arabia.

JC,  the 5C just had big black MCI letters on the front, in the engine compartment the vin plate had Challenger on it if i remember right.  Great bus, really liked having jake brakes, wish that my back was better so i could have kept it.

Pembina ND is a bad word in my vocabulary. They're the creeps that seized my trophy Moose antlers!

Why did they do that may I ask? Hunting up north?

If you would like to know more about JCs Challenger, you can read all about it here.  It is a really great conversion, but a bit slow going up hills. One time, I was following JC up to Joshua Tree, and he kept passing me on the downhill runs, and then I would pass him on the uphill runs. I think he drove it with the pedal to the medal at all times.  ;D   He and Valerie are fun to travel with.
