Title: Owning a Piece of Bus History
Post by: Gary Hatt - Publisher BCM on August 23, 2024, 11:37:45 AM
The AACA Museum’s Bus Collection Committee faced a storage issue as its historic fleet grew to 60 buses, but it could only store fewer than 30 indoors. To address this, it implemented a "Deaccession" plan to reduce the collection to a manageable number while preserving those with significant historical value.

An auction was held to find new homes for the surplus buses, with the revenue supporting preserving the remaining coaches. The response was positive, with enthusiasts supporting the initiative and more auctions planned for further curation. The proceeds will enhance the quality of the museum's remaining historic fleet.
