In 1995, an International truck was assembled for towing FEMA trailers and served as an overnight bunk. After just 35,000 miles, it was abandoned in a Missouri storage lot, where neglect led to severe deterioration. By 2011, the truck was largely unusable, but Kevin Daniels purchased it "as-is" and drove it 1,100 miles to Connecticut, repairing it along the way.
Ultimately, Kevin sold the truck to Dan Bureau, a French Canadian carpenter and musician. Dan, who envisioned a unique conversion, invested extensive time and skill into transforming the truck. He replaced the deteriorated living area with a custom-built, high-quality wooden box, incorporating various recycled and repurposed materials. This renovation included a new roof, cedar siding, and creative solutions for components like water tanks and a molded front end.
Dan’s meticulous work resulted in a striking, functional rig that now serves as his mobile home and workshop. With its eye-catching design and Dan’s craftsmanship, the converted truck and trailer attract attention and often lead to new project opportunities for him on the road.
