While replacing my air compressor on my Series 60 Detroit, it appears that the fuel pump weep hole is all wet, but I can't really tell if it's leaking, or if I'm just making a mess of things and getting fuel all over the place. At any rate, I'm not clear on what pumps the bus actually has. I'm assuming that the pump mounted and driven off the rear of the air compressor is the fuel pump, but does my D4500 also have an injector pump, and does it have a lift pump too? Thanks in advance!!!

There is no injection pump, same system design DD used on the 2 cycle engines machinal or electronic ,the pump just fills the rail system inside the head and the injectors take the fuel to use as programed ,those are machinal injected technology from 85 years back with a electronic metering system . Lift pumps were a option yours may have one or may not, if you have a lift pump it will be on top of the fuel tank

Thanks again luvrbus. I just got my longer fuel hose in today and I installed it tonight, but I have yet to install the new filter and get as much of the air out as possible before firing it up. I plan to get the bus running again before removing the air compressor. Again, I relocated both the fuel filter and power steering reservoir to make it easier to get to the compressor. Take care.
