I'm sure some of you have head about the program where some Detroit Allison GT404 turbines were installed in Greyhounds in the 80s for a test program.
Well I bought one this weekend...
If anyone has any manuals or technical documentation of any kind please send it my way.
I tried to attach pictures but got an error about security checks. I'll try again with a comment.

20 + years ago I had a Ford Turbine engine that Eagle tested in 3 of the 05 Eagles,I still have a little info on it but nothing on a MCI with the Allision, Ford tested their turbine engine in trucks and I think Peterbuilt and GMC gave the Alllison a test in their trucks you may find something on truck forum. The turbine came and went away in a short period of time for transportation, I thought MCI tested the turbines before 1980 in the MCI 7 ?
Any ways the gas turbines didn't work out they used as much gasoline on idle as they did running full bore

Interesting idea but just not practical I know that AMERICAN LAFRANCE experimented with gas turbines in the 1960's and 1970's in their fire apparatus. It was called the TURBO CHIEF. There were only a few that I believe with aftermarket installations. After a short time, they were quietly converted back to gasoline or diesel engines.
Again not very practical.

I know this is absolutely the least practical thing I could do but it'll certainly be a cool project and a lot of fun.
Handling a breakdown far from home is not a fun idea...

"This year it will be the 4th full weekend in September making it the 25-28! Registration will open April 1, same as last year. Hope EVERYONE can make it this year."
