Title: Place to park in Idaho or Oregon for a few weeks
Post by: thomasinnv on May 09, 2012, 09:15:55 PM
Looking for a place to camp for a few weeks, possibly the month of june.. BLM, national forest or preserve or some similar type of setting preferred. (meaning...really cheap or free) somewhere around Emmett ID or Payette or Ontario OR or somewhere in that area. Our normal place to park is out this year because of a death in the family. The surviving spouse is moving in with her kids for a while. Any ideas on a place?

Derrick,
How close are you wanting to be to the city? There is a nice place between Weiser and Midvale. You go north on highway 95 out of Weiser, maybe about 10 miles. The place is called Mann Creek. It will be on the west side of the highway. It has a nice little lake and creek and is in the hills. It used to be free years ago but I believe it is now 10.00 per night. You will not have any problems getting a 40' bus in there.

My place in Nampa is rented until September or I'd let you stay there for free. It even has a nice RV spot.

You can also go to reserveamerica.com and see all the other places that are there. There are a bunch of places on the forest service roads that you could camp for free, but I don't think you could get the bus into most of them.

Good luck

Gary, thanks for the reply. I have heard people in this area talk about Mann Creek. I will have to check it out. Do you know if there is any cell service in that area?

Derrick,
The last time I was there I had AT&T and it didn't work. My uncle had Version and it did, but was a weak signal. There are places closer to town, but Mann Creek is more my I idea of camping. :)

My wife and I live in Boise ID in a subdivision. We have a 4106 we bought less than a year ago. Our bus is parked on the side of our house. We have no problems moving our bus to let you have it. It's not a great view, but we have a nice back yard and it,s free. We can offer only 110v and water and a BBQ dinner once in a while. We have two big dogs that we can keep in the house. It's a tight fit (not awning friendly) but will hold a 40' bus. Would love to talk to a busnut. Can call me at (208) 297-4707

Kevin & Traci

PS. We still work full time (sucks)

Clifford,, I attended the first 5 harmonica events at Yellowpine,, flew in each time and stayed at Johnson creek airport. Over that time I watched the event turn into a drunken brawl with young kids drunk and acting out,, really disgusting,, I enjoyed the music but won't be back.>>>Dan
