Title: Where to get tank fittings spin-welded
Post by: cjm on July 23, 2012, 08:02:18 PM
I live near Raleigh, NC.  I have looked, called, begged, pleaded, and tried to bribe anyone and everyone around here connected with tanks or RVs trying to get some fittings spin-welded onto my new tanks.  I can't find anyone to do it.  Can anyone help me?  TIA, John

A vendor who sells tanks can't install fittings into tanks????

Get on the google and try this:  plastic tanks raleigh NC

You are after an industrial supplier, not the @#$&^#* recreational vehicle related amateurs.

You want a full line tank vendor, chemical/industrial/agricultural are some more key words to try in google.

happy coaching!

The fitting are not hard to find, a plastic fab shop equipped to spin weld is a different story I found out as most don't have equipment to spin a fitting at 20,000 + rpm

I can do a 1/2 inch fitting with a router after that it is a no go for me

good luck

Put in poly tanks Raleigh N.C.   in search. several listings.  I found one here in Ind 5 miles from my house I did not know about. custom made tanks less than shipping cost would have been over internet.   Bob

Just from a quick search, I know nothing about them.

Thanks to all.  I had already tried calling the plastic fabricators and tank people in Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, and Winston Salem.  The tank people all used compression fittings.  One had the spin-weld fittings AND the tools to install them but no one who knew how to do it!  I will try the Siler City company.  Thanks again, John

We didn't have our spun on. A tank manufacturer in our area (1.5 hours away) did it for us. He took the fittings, drilled the right size hole, then welded it. Worked very well for us....
