Well, for about the 10th year in a row my Thanksgiving Day has turned to crap. I suppose I should ride up to the quickstop store and grab a turkey sandwich before they are all snatched up.
If you have a family, enjoy them while you have them...it's tough being an orphan.

TomCat - this is a tough time of the year when you are alone. Since we found this bus community, we've made some good friends. There's a few of us who get together from time to time, and keep in touch. In fact, we're all going to Arcadia together (or meeting up), and if I may speak on behalf of them, we'd love for you to join us. We'll be in Arcadia on the 29th (some will be there sooner), but we intend to have a great time and bring in the New Year right!! See you there -

TomCat,I agree with Sue and you should try to make it to arcadia for the ralley then you will be with some really great people for the holidays and they do have a way of making everyone feel welcome and part of a family in a big way,let us know if we can help Mike

Many thanks for the kind posts and private emails I received regarding a another lonesome Thanksgiving Day in Colorado. I guess you guys and gals floated enough good vibes to me that my former landlady, after noticing my vehicles parked all day, dropped off a turkey filled to-go plate a few hours after dark. THANKS!

I can feel your pain, this is the 3rd year with out my wife of 40 years and it is not a whole lot eaiser. My family is in Colorado, TN, and Orgeon. Thank good ness for friends. As soon as my house sells I will be fulltimeing it and based out of Walsenburg, CO. As I try to be just be thankfuly for what you have and what you have had in the past. The next really hard time is Christmas.

Cat and I treat just about every holiday as just another day.
I use to cook for a big family during the holidays and now, since I no longer have that family, it's hard to cook for just the two of us. It kind of takes the "happy" out of the holidays.
Cat's family has their own lives and families now so it's time for them to make their own traditions.
I'm certain that a lot of people in our age groups feel this way, and I'm also certain that we could all engage in a family of our own, comprised not only of bus nuts, but of anyone who needs to feel the warmth of family and friendship.

Well, not exactly...but I did think how cool it would have been eating Thanksgiving dinner in a Moose Creek Motorcabin!
You guys make me wanna go home and hug my wife and son. I tell you right now, anyone willing to drive the distance to my house will get treated like a King (or Queen)! We had a very quiet Thanksgiving ourselves this year. I'm from a large family and this is the first time I remember ever not eating Thanksgiving at my Mama's house. Of course, she lives in Mississippi and I'm here in PA. Loooong way...
But, all you have to do Tom, Dallas and Ed is just load them buses and head on over. I'll deep fry a turkey and we'll have a belated Thanksgiving. Maybe for Christmas, huh? I'M SERIOUS! The only thing I ask is that ya'll take us riding in the buses!!! I'll say a special prayer for you guys tonight.
