I have a buddy who needs 2-3 of them for an art project.  These are the 80's style electronic destination signs that are usually on city busses, that have little discs that flip over from one side to the other to make up the characters, one side of the dot/disc is black the other brighty colored.  Anyone got one to give away or for cheap?

I am also curious... Not that i have a bus to put one in yet... BUT... When I do, I was thinking about having one so I could put the name of the race we are going to... thought it would be kinda neat.. All the ones that I have seen on parts busses around here were all messed up, or already gone...

How about one of those scrolling ( can set to stationary) LED signs that you see in schools, businesses, etc?? That might work....

The guy specifically needs the magnetic kind, as they don't draw power once the characters are set. LED signs need continuous power.  It's for an art project where there is little power available, but enough to change the sign once in a while.

How soon does he need it?

I haven't uninstalled mine that is on the curbside yet (it has a lot of security screws that I will have to deal with).  I would rather not tackle removing it for another couple weeks at least.

It is the complete display unit but does not include the controller unit.  (The PO was a charter operator and kept it.)

If he wants it, he can have it for the cost of packaging and shipping it.

Weeks would be fine! No problem.  And I think he's building his own controller from scratch, so that's cool too!
And the price is right! Let me know when you're ready and I'll send you what you need... or I can have UPS pick it up on a call tag... whatever works for ya!
Thanks!!
