Looks like i may be able get one over at International truck parts tomorrow,

What do y'all think,  Hook it to 12v or 24 volt?     I'm thinking 12v.

Would the resistance be the same for either?  any ideas what it should be or where to find it?

Thanks again all

Make sure that your heater is either 12 or 24. Otherwise it will blow up. Your heater is built for one or the other...Been there done that...

God bless,

If you have both of those voltages available, I would go with 24.  It carries half the current, wire size can be smaller or the same wire for 12V will have less loss.

Excellent journey so far!

As noted, you have to get it right on the voltage.

Replacing the heating/purge equipment is a matter of preventive maintenance, so if you just go buy the 24 volt kit, pat yourself on the back twice for getting it going and for doing the maintenance?

It's only the heater that cares about the voltage, the rest of the beast is mechanical/pneumatical.

happy coaching!

Thanks all,

It is a 12V,   I had the Dryer replaced a couple years ago when they put new bushings on the front and they put an AD-9 on there.   believe it had an AD-3 before.  The plug still has the cap with die-electric grease in it.  I will be getting a Pigtail from Truck-Pro tomorrow and I'm gonna stick with 12V for now.

I bought the pigtail and have run the wire,  If I had been a little smarter,  the plug seems to be exactly the same as the headlight plug for about $5 at  OTTERZONE as opposed to $22 at the truck shop, and I didn't have to order it and wait.
Hope that may help somebody in the future. :)

We are also chickening out on trying to take the bus :o due to the cold, we down sized to the Buslett (minivan) and are going to drive back and forth.  I'm glad y'all started talking about the water pump cause I'm sure my bay isn't insulated enough won't work.  I love this board.
