Coolant capacity
« on: July 21, 2009, 07:26:43 PM »
What is the approx amount of coolant in my 8-71 including the radiator. I do parades with a couple of my collector ambulances and use Evans cooling products in them, the results are great no more boil over or vapor locks. I'm thinking about putting it in my bus but as the price per gallon is high I want to figure out the cost first.

Fraser, my MC7 holds 27 gallons of coolant.  If You do not have the coolant valves open to the heater system it holds less.  I have seen the ads for evans coolant and wondered if it might  help My street rod which likes to run hot in the winter let alone summer.  I assumed from the ads that it did not contain water.  Regards, John

When I drained my 7 to replace the hoses I got around 20 gallons out of it. I'm sure more was still in the system. I added some cooling enhancer when I filled it back up but I can't recall what it was. Later
