some more sawdust for libby
« on: July 21, 2009, 04:19:43 PM »
Here are some progress pics of the new kitchen I'm whacking together for libby, it's all solid mahogany and rosewood, kinda different with the dovetailed joints and stuff, libby picked out a black corian sink with burnished brass fixtures and stuff. Still got a ways to go on it but it's starting to shape up, now I'm doing up the uppers, their still on the workbench.

I have more inside the cabinets, does that count, I had originally thought maybe I'd make the drawers operate electrically. lol

Wow very nice indeed. I wish I could do that. I have an old shopsmith would that work?

Is that design on the front done with a scroll saw?

The design is actually a mahogany overlay, I used to cut them out, but they are all over the internet now, I got lazy lol, for a chair back or something like that I'll still take the time to cut them out but this is a bus lol.

Yep paul, can still count to 10, still just a saw dust piler. lol I wasn't sure about the smoke blue/gray quartz countertop tho with the reddish color of the wood at first but figured it's a bus, lets experiment a little. lol  I'm doing leaded glass for the uppers, something different.

I had wanted to do leaded galss also, but not enough time for me to get it all done before I start school. Maybe later down the road when I have nothing else to do! ::)

Please post when you get that far, I'm interested in learning that craft. Are you doing clear or colored?

Paul
