I am in no hurry to find a different engine for my bus, and as Clifford has said, if I keep my green engine cool and make sure it is full of oil, I will probably go for my lifetime with the engine I have. Buuuuuttt I do occasionally look for a silver engine, and found this engine on the Minneapolis Criagslist. This engine is listed, and I have talked to the owner. The owner has 4 buses for limo type work, and some charter efforts. He has a personal Flex bus that he was going to repower with 6V92. He bought this engine from a now defunct fire engine body company. He bought this engine many years ago, from the folks who were liquidating the companies assets.
It is a zero hours engine purchased new in 1994. It is a turbocharged intercooled DDECII engine with jakes, starter, electronic fuel injectors. It is rated for something between 350 and 400 hp. It has an automatic transmission bell housing and fly wheel.
Price is $9500 which is out of my price range, but could be close to what it is worth, beats me. Could get it for less I think, not sure how much less though.
