Spare

Can you use a spare with a steel wheel if all the rest of the wheels on the coach are aluminum (including the inside duals)?

Sure.  But if you are going to go a long ways you need a "gasket" on the rears to keep the aluminum and steel from eating up each other.

You can, but you will need steel wheel thimbles for the inside (different flange).  The thin wafer between the two different wheels would not be needed unless they were a long use deal.  No need for just running in with a spare.

Do you already have the spare rim? If so, sounds like it would work. If you don't already have the spare rim, I've read about some people just carrying a spare unmounted tire. Whoever you call for roadside assistance to help change the tire should be able to mount the spare in the field. Of course, if you're planning on changing the tire yourself you'll probably want it mounted.

We carry a fully inflated spare tire and will & have changed a flat or blown tire if & when the occasion arises. Heck its a lot easier than a head job or a blower replacement!  ;)

I do have the spare with the steel rim. Don't know what they were thinking there. Checked the date codes I could see. Fronts are 5yr old, spare is 7, I'll try to get a look at the back side of the mains and tag when I can. Should be OK for now, probably should get new when it's ready for the road in a few years. Not bad I think. I guess I should be watching for a deal on an alloy wheel for the spare and maybe ask Andy to watch for a good deal on new tires in a couple years.

I found the lug wrench and handle but no sign of a jack. No surprise there. Also have the run-up block, 3 tire chocks and 2 sets of reflective triangles. Most of the basic roadside stuff anyway.
