After arriving here in Abilene in December looked for house and job for me.

Good on the first, nothing on the second.

We are excited! This large double lot has two houses on it. One that has been totally remodeled on the inside, nothing left to do. The other one will be torn down, or a strong West Texas wind will blow her down.

Hopefully next year I will be building a BUS BARN! I am looking at around 24x50. The nice thing is that being in the country, (Hawley) I can build what I want without any problems. I might even be brave enough and build a pit. I'm tired of crawling on my belly to work on it.

I am stoked because we looked at the house in December, another couple put in on a contract and it fell through. We got a call last night and our offer still stands. Signing the papers tonight! Every other house we looked at just didn't seem like the one for us, we kept thinking of the house in Hawley. Sometimes doors close then open for no reason.

Now to find a job to pay for the BUS BARN.

Happy Trails,

Paul and Becky

Congratulations Paul! We toyed around with our recent house/land purchase too and we got a similar call one night and the deal finally came our way! Funny how things just seem to fall in place when you least expect them too!
We are in the process of building a 20x48 workshop/garage and in a couple of weeks it will be done! Not bad for only being here part time (we are back and forth between houses) in a month!

You will like your new home once you get in and are able to personalize it! I know we have been!

As for your job? Ahh you don't need one but if you get one, I'm sure it will be what you want! :)

Good luck and keep us posted and if you or anyone else is ever in need of a stay over while in Central Florida, look us up. We have plenty of room!

To All who have replied so far.

Ace, We will definately take you up on that offer. My wife has friends in Florida, Orlando I think.

Chaz, Yes I will post pictures sometime soon. We are leaving for Southern California to pick up our furniture next Wed. or Thurs., so I will have the cable and software to post them.

We have not sold our home in SoCal yet, so hopefully it will all come together while we are there. Realtor is showing the house that weekend.

I also will be able to have any busnuts visit as I will be installing a 50 amp service for visitors. We would probably have room for at least three buses, service for only one, sorry.  ;)

Must go look for a job or my wife will disown me. LOL

We are looking forward to this new adventure. Also we will be only about 5 miles from her folks, which is nice and close considering the circumstances.

Paul

Good deal Paul! We are only about 30-40 minutes depending on how you drive from the mouse house!

Wee have room for heck I don't know, maybe 6 buses comfortably! More if crowded! No hookups yet but very soon! I tiwll be a lot better once the shop is built and the construction is over with!
