Happy Thanksgiving from BCM
« on: November 23, 2023, 06:48:00 AM »
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving...wherever you are.

I am in Puerto Penasco for a couple of weeks while I get another side of my bus painted.  I can only afford to have it done in Mexico and only one side each year.  They do it here on the beach while I sip on Margaritas and eat seafood every day.

Where are you this week?

Enjoy family and friends today, I remember in history class  President Lincoln made Thanksgiving a holiday to heal the difference between people of the civil war. Maybe we need a new holiday again

Happy National Thanks be to God day.

Abe Lincoln did in fact make it a holiday. But George Washington made the first proclamation. And it's worth reading...

Thanks is not a construct of man or a nation of men.

Thanks is a construct of God. One which man should closely follow.

In all things give thanks. It's not a day. Rather, a decision.

Depends on what you believe. Even the Bible wasn't written by God they were written by man as an interpretation of what was believed in those days.

Correct. It absolutely depends on what you believe.

After all, what you believe is more important than the sincerity of your belief.

But who doesn't like thankfulness? I certainly appreciate bring thanked for a job well done.

There are many stories about the history of Thanksgiving. It's actually giving Thanks to God for what he has done for us. But I personally am thankful to him everyday.
I'm also thankful that I never married and had a family of my own. I don't know how people can stand it going to all of the fuss. :) It was ok when I was a kid but as I got older, it felt more like an obligation rather than something fun to look forward to.
