I had one of those that I practically gave away, a DJB I believe.  I just could not get it quiet and smooth enough for my liking.

One of the problems with air cooled units, especially if you are boxing them in is knowing if they are overheating.  You could install a temperature probe in the exhaust air stream and keep an eye on that.

I have absolutely zero intention of boxing this one in.  Fair warning to everyone reading this - my generator is a noisy SOB so park a long way off from me.  I do have one of Jim Shepherd's temperature monitoring systems so I'll have some warning if it starts to get hot.
