insuring a salvage/rebuilt conversion
« on: May 10, 2016, 05:41:51 AM »
Does any of you know of a insurance company that will do full coverage on a self done mci conversion with a salvage/rebuilt title.
I'm having no luck what so ever finding anybody.

Your problems with coverage stem from asking for full coverage, try asking for liability only. The next problem is a salvage title - investigate getting a different type title and what you would have to do to qualify. The final problem is  describing it as self-done. Unless you have a garage or conversion company, that raises fears among underwriters. Talk with independent insurance agents and see what they can come up with.

Our registration does not say conversion. It is a motor house. The make is Eagle. That is how RVs are registered in California. We have stated value on the bus. We are State Farm, house and vehicle.

I have never bought a bus or rv with salvage history but have bought many other vehicles that were salvage.
I was able to get liability only!

no. but if a policy is available, these folks will know. they write in many states, not just California. i would ask if they know a state that you can register in...
