shocks for MC-5C (revisited)
« on: March 01, 2024, 11:54:40 AM »
I posted about this a while back, but I have more questions...
The original manual on my 5C gives the shocks part #as 12B-5-1, quantity 6.  i.e. both front and rear shocks are the same.  That OEM # crosses to Gabriel 85700 though the Gabriel site says that model is for the front and RJ (from my original post) suggested them for the front and other models for the rear.  The Gabriel rep says that the original manual trumps all, and if that OEM# crosses to the 85700, then it should work front and rear, whether Gabriel lists it as such or not.

Is there anything I'm missing here?  Do y'all use matching shocks front and rear? Any reason not to, assuming the fittings are correct? (Most suppliers only have a couple 85700 in stock, so I'll likely be making multiple orders)

Thanks Dave!  That's the 85000.  I went ahead and ordered six of the 85700s with fittings from two different suppliers (2@$99, 4@$61), with 30 and 90 day return policies.  Hopefully they'll all fit and we'll be smooth and comfy crossing the USA starting in about three weeks.
