Saw in the local news Cat is closing in Wamego and laying off 300 people at the end of 2025. Three huge manufacturing buildings. They do big repaires and install huge buckets and make them here.  a lot of testing and welding machines there also.

They moved the production of loader buckets from Waco Tx back 2018 to Wamego, I heard they were moving to Cat Industries in Mexico where they make the huge dump beds for the mining trucks but I heard that a year ago, guess it is happening now,the equipment in the place is amazing I watched a 20 yard loader bucket being built with all the automated cutting and welding equipment. That is a nice complex I hope someone buys it for some type business those are nice people in that area too I haven't heard  from you in a while hope all is well with you a Doreen  lol I don't really care how the cats are doing just you 2

They are not shutting down until July 2025 so people can get other work if needed. 150 others will keep their jobs in other counties in Kansas for awhile.
