How long is a Prevost H3-41 minus bumpers?
« on: March 27, 2025, 06:32:09 PM »
Can someone that has a Prevost H3-41 please measure from the front vertical metal surface to the rear vertical metal surface?

Since the 41 in H3-41 is the length designation, I suspect and hope that the 41 refers to the length from the front bumper to the rear bumper.

In California, I understand that the Department of Motor Vehicles doesn't count the bumpers in the length.

In photos, the bumpers look to protrude at least six inches beyond the front and rear vertical surfaces.

This should mean that the bus without the bumpers is 40 feet or less.

This would mean if the title is converted to a motorhome that someone with a Class C California license could drive it.

If it's over 40 feet not including the bumpers, this means the driver needs a non commercial Class B license, which makes selling a coach much more difficult, and such licenses require periodic medical exams and require paid bus driving school to get.

Finally, coaches over 40 feet can only be driven on specific California roads, so a map must be consulted before driving.

Thank you very much.

Kevin
