It has been a positive day! Fixed the water heater, the element was shot! Got the Directv working great! The KVH locked on and the signal was about 94%. My wife is very HAPPY! Can't get the local ABC though, CBS and NBC come in pretty good. Becky is not happy about not getting ABC, as she really likes it.

We are out of the house completely! Was a good feeling to leave the keys on the counter, shut the door and walk out.

Clifford, Tell Sonja that Becky will be doing some quilting as soon as I get her sewing area operational. Going to remove the couch and install a computer workstation along with a table for her machine.

Bill, You can see pictures and a more complete synopsis in my website/blog. I'll try and keep it updated, although I'm leaving tomorrow for a month.

Dallas, We'll get down to see you guys one day, I promise.

Doug, Another mobile Texan to join you!

Bob, I'm still employed for another couple of years. But we can still move about because my wife can work from the bus, and I can leave from just about any airport for my work.

David, Stop by here in Abilene anytime, we'll be here for a while yet.

Ed, we sold the lawnmower and didn't look back!

Jack, We'll see you down the road someday I'm sure. Maybe at one of our bus rallies, we could take turns visiting.

Mike, problems are an everyday occurrence, just have to make lemonade out of lemons!

PP and PacNWNomad, This has been a dream of mine for many years, now we can live it!

John, We will defiantly see each other on the road soon.

"Happy Trails"

~Paul and Becky~

Hey, Paul.  Sorry I'm chiming in late -- you know, I don't usually check the "Eagle" threads.

Welcome to life on the road.  Maybe our paths will cross again.

Thats great news for you guys.  I am still a couple years out but we are still firmly headed in the full timer direction.

Cheers,

Hey BK, What's a Setra? ;D I'm sure it's a distant cousin, twice removed, or is it the other way around!

Hi John, Keep heading that way, it's never too late! We're enjoying it and feel we made the right decision.

Cody, Glad to hear the windows are safe and sound, and yip we're getting closer to you guys inch by inch. ;D

I'm planning our first big trip to Oregon in June. It's looking like a 6 week journey, 4-6 days from Abilene to Sisters OR. One week with my brother and his wife in Sisters, then up to Vancouver WA to spend some time with our friend Doug (Doug1968) and his wife Lori, then on down to Salem to visit my folks. Then onto Rickreall OR to attend BUS'N USA. Then back to Abilene and the real world! We also plan to stop and see Clifford and Sonja, along with Van and Cheryl and anybody else on the way up and back. I haven't confirmed that with anyone, so if our plans don't match we'll try another time.

If any of you have taken this route or have a better one in mind let me know. Of course I'm trying to stay away from the high country and stay on the flats.

That is way too much planing, you haven't been away from work long enough.  Enjoy it more and only plan for the next day, sometimes not even that far ahead.  More than anything else when you full time enjoy every day of the rest of your life.  We only did the full time for five years, what a great time we had.  Some times I think we should do it again.  Sure hope you will enjoy the life as much as my wife and I did.
Jack
