Nova Scotia Bus Gathering (July)
« on: April 10, 2006, 04:52:10 AM »
Ok, trying to get an idea by a show of hands ... who's interested in meeting on the beautiful coast line of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia this year?  Working on July dates similar to last year.

Would like to step it up a notch if possible and get some things lined up.

ALSO:  For those who have been there in the previous years or two.  I would like your input as well.  Suggestions, ideas, etc.

Thanks,
Jerry H.

Jerry,

Won't be able to make it this year, but have been planning on going to N.S. next summer.

However, a friend called me last night, and when I mentioned this, he told me that N.S. has laws that prohibit parking a motorhome anywhere EXCEPT an RV Campground. He says it's even illegal to park on private property.

I know your in-laws own a park, but do you know anything about this law?

just curious.

Hey Craig:

Nope, never heard of that one, but I'll forward to and ask Jim (Linda's Dad).

I am holding you to next year!!

Thanks,
Jerry H.

Well, I was thinking this year would be better, since I'm going to be unemployed in a couple months, and it don't make sense to find another job till after summer ;-) but the family has already made plans for the summer and the mere mention of that thought was enough to put my daughter in tears!  You'd have thought I had just grounded her from shopping!

Thinking maybe I should still do Nova Scotia this summer... alone!!

Give or take ... it'll be Mid-July.  Don't have a definite date as yet.
Visit this link for the 2 previous years -> http://www.i-kb.com/ns/.

Hope to see you there this year -- more the merrier.

Will likely be the week of July 2nd or 9th.  More to follow.  Hope you can make it -- the more the merrier.
I am curious where Diesel fuel pricing will be then.  We just went down and back to Myrtle Beach, SC.  Paid (on average) $2.65 /Gallon, with $2.55 being the lowest.  Saw $3.01 as the highest!!!  That was in the DC area.  It appears that Loves has the cheapest price on Diesel.

But back to the post -- please visit http://i-kb.com/ns/ for more information.  I've NOT updated it as yet, but will within the week.  Stay tuned.

Thanks,
Jerry H.

I am holding you to next year!!

Will only work if it's in June. We have to be in CO mid July next summer.

Personally, I'd like to do it this year. I don't think I can convince some of the family. My son is in with me, but my wife and daughter are holding out.

Will keep working on them.

Craig:

So, why are the Mrs. and daughter NOT with the program for this year?
They like Lobster ... Fresh lobster?  Maybe do some whale watching?

I have heard it said, "life comes at you fast".  I didn't know it would be in the shape of a bus  :-)

Craig:

Ok, we'll set up a VolleyBall net and do a day trip -- we'll just need to find a bus :)
By the by Craig, what's your MC9 powered by?  DD8V71, 6V92 or 8V92?  And what kind of fuel mileage you averaging.  I know that's a departure from the thread title, but just curious.  Have you run that bio-diesel out there in MN?  I have a trucker who frequents here from out in MN.  He likes the bio-diesel.  What say you?
