94 Eagle 45Foot
« on: December 07, 2009, 05:03:40 PM »
Just bought a 94 45 foot eagle off ebay. Have not picked it up yet or paid for it. Was wondering if anyone has any info on bus or what I should look for, when I go to see it. Vin is R2519VAA. Think it is a Hurcueles conversion limo.  Thanks for any help.  Rick

Hi Rick,

Welcome to our little corner of the world! I don't have the build sheets for that year mine only go to 88, but I'm sure Clifford will be able to help you. With Eagle in the title, he's not far behind.  ;)

I sent you a PM BTW,

Paul

Rick,

Can you send me the ebay item number?

I think Clifford is on the road, I'll see if I can reach him.

Hi Rick,

That is not an original Eagle VIN number. It is probably an older Eagle that was converted and retitled as a 94 model.

Hi Rick,

If that's the case, there is also a pretty good chance that it was stretched and/or widened from a forty footer.  Some people did a great job with a stretch but I would be very cautious.

Very interesting, looks like a raised driver. It would be nice to see if the origianal VIN# could be found somewhere. Dan, any idea on where he could look?

Thanks for the replies guys. That is the right ebay listing. Pretty sure it is a rebuild, does not have push button shifter, has the leaver kind. Also do not know if it is 102" or not. Cant get much info from the people selling it. I want to trun it into a motor home type and thought this would be a good place to start. Think it is a Hercules conversion, does any one know about their workmanship?   Thanks for help, going to see it next tuesday.     Rick

Rick,

As best I can tell from the pictures it looks like a 96".  If it was widened the drive wheels would be slightly inside the fender flare, unless they widended the axle, also.  I know there is a thread somewhere that shows pictures of both, but I can't remember the title to search for it.  Anyone remember that thread?  Actually, it may be on the Eagle International board, but I just can't remember.

If that bus runs ok, you scored a great price.  Congratulations!!  and welcome to the community.  I just drove through Celeste a few months ago.  Wish I would have seen it.

IIRC, isn't the OEM VIN riveted/stamped into one of the RH frame rails in the engine compartment on Eagles?

Also IIRC, aren't vehicles built after 1980 supposed to have a 17 digit VIN?

If it is a late model bird last 7 numbers should be in the 70000 series, thought those numbers didn't jive.

Rick, if the bus is really in Celeste TX, just NE of McKinney, then I'm about 65 miles away.  It's always good to know who's in the area if you need some help when you go to pick up the coach.

Van,

The last recored I have is 1988 and they are all 9000 numbers.

Rick,

Make sure and get all associated paperwork, you never know what you'll end up with for records. I think RJ might be correct on the VIN# location, at least on our 01 a tag was rivited in the old A/C compartment, not sure if that is correct on yours or not.

This is an example of what it would look like 1EUDN6A19JBO90000.
